Thanks for your application and payment, we are delighted to confirm your trade stall at the Christmas Market 2024.
Your documentation has now been submitted to Telford & Wrekin licencing team, this is so you can legally trade via our umbrella street trading licence, if we have any issues with documentation we will contact you directly, but if you don't hear from us then it means everything has been accepted without any issue.
The market will take place on Newport High Street & St Marys Street, we have an entire road closure in place from 6AM-6PM. The street is open to the public at all times on foot, but public traffic will not permitted on the street after 6AM or before 6PM.
However as a trader you will be permitted between 6AM-8AM where our friendly team will direct you to your allocated pitch. The pitches have been allocated as part of street trader licence and if you refuse the location you've been allocated then you will not be able to trade, this is because if you aren't in the location as per the street trading licence we hold then you will be classed as trading illegally.
We need all traders vehicles to be off the high street by
9.15am at the latest, you can use any of the local near by car parks.
Trading will open to the public at 10AM and end at 4PM, at 4PM we will then begin directing traders vehicles on site in a organised method, please bare with us as this does take time and we will give you access as soon as possible to bring your vehicle back on site to dismount your stall, please follow our marshalls instructions.
Do not go and fetch your own vehicle at 4PM and expect to be able to just drive it straight into the location and dismantle, we have a demonstrated process for doing this that we will share with each trader on the day.
Important Information1. You are responsible for your own waste/rubbish please ensure you do not leave any mess behind, if we have to tidy up your waste we will charge you for the removal of the waste and you will not be allowed to do any future events run by the Newport Carnival Team, we aren't here to clean up after you.
2. We do not provide gazebos, all we provide is your pitch space. We highly recommend using a gazebo due to the November weather being unpredictable, we also recommend thermal pants too!
3. If your stall requires electric power, you will need to provide your own generator, trailing cables to local shops/properties is forbidden by Telford and Wrekin council and will result in your power being disconnected and you may not be able to trade. If you are using a generator please ensure you have adequate fire protection equipment too (Checked Fire Extinguisher, Fire Blanket etc)
4. Please ensure if you are serving food you have a copy of your Food Hygiene documents with you, in case the event is audited by Telford & Wrekin council.
5. Please do not move any vehicle on site unless a marshall has given you the clearance.
6. When moving a vehicle on site please keep to a maximum of 5mph with hazard lights on whenever moving.
7. Please do not leave your stall and go off-site, in the past we've had traders sell out, and go home and come back later, this is strictly forbidden as you will need to keep full responsibility for your stall at all times should we need to make any changes or an emergency procedure comes into force.
8. In the event of an emergency our marshalls will shout 'Stop, Stop, Stop' if this is shouted please stop trading and listen for further actions, the event in this happening is very unlikley but we want to make you all aware.
9. Our marshalls will be working hard from 6am till 6pm to keep the event running safely, if you are serving hot drinks please kindly consider offering a drink to our team if they look like they are frozen or like a drowned rat, after all we are all on the same team.
